"Imagine an artist drops an album, but instead of instantly appearing on Spotify or Apple Music, it’s exclusively available on physical media (vinyl, CDs, even cassette tapes) for 2-5 months." -

I loved this idea. It really could have helped turn the tide against the pathetic streaming royalty rates and helped artists keep living. Then I realised someone/someones would instantly ruin it by uploading the album everywhere. Bah!

Would def help with streaming rates as artists can make money of these streaming events, where the can also sell merch etc.

but yeah leaks happen with movies too u fortunately. But at least it would still take more effort to find and listen to the album that hopefully it deters those just ripping it!

Thanks for reading!

I'm the first to admit that I don't give albums the focus they deserve, since I mostly listen to music while on the bus or when i take a walk, so this idea sounds very nice. I agree with your points, it would make people engage more deeply with the music they listen to, and it would be a very pleasant time

Which is very fair, streaming has made it great for those to enjoy music on commute and anywhere outside their homes. Nothing will change with this suggestion except the period between a new release before it hits streaming. And these events can definitely engage fans and also meet others with similiar interests! Thanks for reading 😊

Pairing is definitely an important part of the music to activity experience, as it could ruin music for you or vice versa. While I listen to many genres depending on the mood/activity, modern metal and alternative is my go to!
