"Cringe is the tax you pay for trying" 👏👏👏 great line, this is something that I've had struggled with all my life and I'm finally starting to make peace with being cringe. Maybe growing older is just learning that being cool is not very fun haha
Trust me I was the same way, at time still struggle with this but a lot less now after experiencing the rewards of meeting 'my people' and communities over being cringe. Once we let go of trying to not be cringe, life get's fun!
Haha if you look back and cringe, you know you've grown and it's always a good sign. But sometimes it's fun to just be cringe. Like you say, trends come and go and it'll always circle back.
I swear millenials seem to have it best in a way that we got to experience life before and after some huge movement whether it be technological or social. Younger gen didn't get to live that out. And then you got boomers who haven't a clue of things. I mean it's a wonder we're full of anxiety and all sorts of mental illness under the sun but at the same time, it's like we were spoiled with that. Like we're the bridge into things. In some ways, we've become to the go-to group for things for all gens so far haha.
Yeah we truly got the best of both not having social media and internet presence run our whole identity + the internet being still a wonder that we had a lot of fun with it without being crucified for whatever we posted. We got to try things and fail, and I just feel kinda sorry nowadays that kids don’t really get that kind of freedom cause everything is so watched with a critical eye. We got to go thru phases, rebrand ourselves etc.

And now with the age of AI, we’re the bridge to all that too haha. We get life before and after it.
"I’d rather do that than look back and feel like I never tried anything." - That right there is the key to it all.
Great post. Keep on cringing!
Back atcha mate! Can’t be worried about what others find cringe. Thanks for reading
No way to get anywhere worth going without climbing cringe mountain first!
