Mood Bored #7
This is the Hello Spring edition.
If you're new and just stumbled on this, welcome! The “Mood Bored” blog series summarizes everything I’ve gotten into for the past month. From media I’ve consumed, hobbies, travels, experiences, music, and everything else I’m currently geeking out on.
As always, you are welcome to drop your thoughts and nerd out with me on anything mentioned here, or if you have any recommendations, in the comments.
Watched- Wrestlemania 41 (entire weekend)
This can be an entire 2000-word article in itself, so I’ll summarize with a quick pros and cons. But overall, enjoyed the weekend as well as NXT!
Pros:
WOMEN”S TRIPLE THREAT TITLE MATCH. Best match of the weekend and should’ve main evented night 2.
I believe in Joe Hendry *clap* *clap*
Dirty Dom being a triple heel and getting cheered like a top babyface and becoming IC champ!
El Grande Americano’s whole video package and entrance
Jacob Fatu vs LA Knight
Night 1 main event was perfection. Top tier cinema.
Cons:
Night 2 main event. WWE’s obsession with Travis Scott needs to be studied. It stunk up John Cena’s history-breaking moment.
Becky Lynch, while happy about her return, once again just being handed a title from those who’ve been working their ass off for the past year in her absence.
Jey Uso. The match was just not very good.. I knew he was going to win, but to win via submission against Gunther is just.. DUMB. Took away Gunther’s entire aura.
Everything about Logan Paul. Go away, heat.
Anime - Welcome to NHK
I recently wrote a blog for Crunchyroll about this anime and how it tackles sensitive topics such as social anxiety and depression. This anime starts as a laugh-out-loud ordeal, with relatable characters and people who are all damaged in their own ways, with the lead being a total shut-in from the world. But boy, does it get depressing, and very, very real. I watched this for the first time as a teenager, and rewatching it again recently in my 30s gave me a lot to think about, which I talk about on the blog. highly recommend if you are an introvert, and know what social anxiety is like.
Playing: Split Fiction
I’ve been patiently waiting to play a game like It Takes Two, as I very much miss the couch co-op days and wanted more as soon as I finished that game, and this follow-up from Hazelight Games delivers! There are so many innovative co-op mechanics introduced on this that I haven’t experienced before, and it’s been a blast playing it with my wife. I dig the fantasy and sci-fi worlds divided, which constantly changes it up and keeps both players on their toes. Please make more games for couples like these.
Watching: Black Mirror Season 7
I’m seeing a lot of hate on this season online, and I don’t get it. What I also don’t get is how people can binge-watch this show in one sitting, because I need time to sit and reflect on each concept for at least a couple of days! Like, how do people just consume these and just move on to the next show?
Anyways, season 6 to me was quite weak aside from 2-3 episodes, it felt very mainstream and lost its touch a bit. And while this season has a more recognizable cast than ever, the feeling of dream and bleakness from earlier seasons is back. EP.3 “Hotel Reverie” is quite possibly in my top 3 fave episodes ever from the series.
Reading: The Marriage Act
Speaking of Black Mirror, have you ever read a John Marrs book? Because you should if you like Black Mirror. His books have the same futuristic thriller (I highly recommend “The One” as well) with mindf*ck concepts. I’m enjoying this one so far, check out the synopsis here.
Playing - Artisans of Splendent Vale
We also started a new board game fantasy campaign, and so far this has been a lot of fun to have on the table. Each character (highly customizable btw) get’s their own book the size of an epic novel, as we venture through a choose your own adventure-esque scenarios with Gloomhaven style gameplay. From the moment I saw the artstyle and components I knew I had to grab it! I recommend it if you want a cozy cooperative board game with a deep story and lore.
Listening to: Leprous
So I’m seeing Lerpous live next week! I’ve been re-listening to their discography and just copped their latest on Vinyl. They’re a Norwegian progressive metal band, mixing dark melancholic prog with almost Oprah-like vocals. For lack of a better comparison and to relate to those unfamiliar, I’d say a more progressive Sleep Token, and with more strangeness.

Let’s geek out in the comments!
Thank you for reading.
After two seasons of Black Mirror I had to stop watching. It was too bleak!
Just started black mirror tonight. Only watched the first. We found it tough to watch in a way where we’re like would we ever do this? No. Hard pass. It’ll be soo hard. Couldn’t do that to a loved one.
But I’m with ya. Can’t do more than an ep at a time. It usually is never a good feeling after haha.
